No excuses! Get to it!

September 6, 2010

I seem to be redirecting you to other sites lately.  Perhaps it’s because I’ve had so little time to sit down and be.  Although I’ve been having quiet time each day, the writing this last week has been focused on a sermon I gave yesterday at the Treasure Valley Metropolitan Community Church.  I’ve been invited by the pastor to be her backup when she’s not available or just wants a break.  I think I’ll start a new page to include my sermons for anyone interested.

In the meantime here is an extraordinary post sent to me by my friend Wendy.  Her friend Juliana wrote a powerful piece on how essential it is that we know ourselves:  So again, I will serve as a clearinghouse for the Divine Wisdom that’s spewing out of others.  It’s so wonderful to see and read and know that we are not alone in our searching and journeying.  If you ever hear or read me saying, “They’re doing their homework!” this post by Juliana is what I’m talking about.

We each must commit to doing our homework — daily, tirelessly, sometimes seemingly endlessly.  Our jobs collectively are to love one another — without reservation.  I’m not there yet.  Are you?  Well, if the answer is, “No, not really,” then get back to your homework.  And don’t whine about it.  Yes, it never ends; and yes, it’s hard; and yes, it hurts.  But it’s truly the only way the world will heal — for us to be completely unfettered in our ability to love each other — warts, mosques, addictions, bigotry, conceit, color, orientation, pain-in-the-assness, horrors, bullshititude and all.  No excuses! Get to it!

I just woke up; came to my computer to check emails; and here is your comment. I’m smiling in every cell, muscle, hair and in my soul. I love you, too, Wendy. Nancy
